On 3 June 2026, Pea Innovation Community lead Sanu Arora and her lab members presented their latest field research at the annual John Innes Centre Breeders’ Day. This event attracts breeders from across the UK and is designed to showcase research and foster collaboration. Sanu and Mishi Vachev presented their autumn-sown pea field which aims to identify winter hardy pea lines as part of the Legume Generation project. Alba Pacheco Moreno presented a field disease diagnostic tool she developed to determine if fungal diseases are present in fields. They received great feedback and interest from the attendees who were also interested in growing peas over the winter and testing their fields for fungal pathogens.
