How do soybeans manage drought ?

Soybean is a food crop delivering high-quality protein. Due to climate change, understanding drought stress resilience is important for Central European soybean production. In the research project RISE-SOY (FTI-Strategie Niederösterreich 2027), “stress signatures” of soybean varieties will be identified illustrating physiological reactions against drought stress. In the research project Legume Generation (European Union, Horizon Europe programme), soybean breeding for food and feed uses is supported.

During the Long Night of Research 2026, results and research items from both projects will be presented along with soy-food taste samples.
